SOIL srl operate in the field of civil engineering and provide designing and technical assistance services.

Founded in 1996 by Mr. Luigi Albert as a soil and rock mechanics consultancy firm, SOIL srl have gradually integrated and broadened their expertise and currently work for Public entities, construction companies and engineering firms in the fields of geology, geotechnics, underground works, conservation of territory and structures.

SOIL srl are able to cover all designing phases from feasibility studies and preliminary surveys up to construction planning.

Such assistance and designing activities are integrated by Operations Management and Technical Supervision services so as to guarantee the project control during its working phase.
Besides its designing and assistance activities, the company supports the Client with services aimed at verifying the operational status of works and the technical and the economic feasibility of third-party designs and has provided assistance to Public entities in the validation phase of important infrastructural works.

SOIL srl currently employ 24 people, among which are active partners, employees and exclusive collaborators.
The operative structure has been set up so as to allow the interaction of specialist disciplines and manage a wide host of technical services in different civil engineering sectors; it features geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, transportation engineers, environmental engineers, geologists, architects and surveyors, assisted by administrative and secretarial personnel.
During peak periods of work, SOIL srl make use of their reliable network of external collaborators, proven over many past experiences.

Therefore, in terms of dimensions it falls in between a professional studio and a large engineering firm, thus strong enough to take on important projects whilst guaranteeing the responsibility and involvement of both the single technicians and the Company’s top designers, in every process.

In 2013 SOIL srl reached a productive peak of approximately 300 drawings in one month and reached a turnover of €2,3M.


SOIL srl has achieved the UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 certification (CERT-13593-2004-AQ-MIL-SINCERT: DET NORSKE VERITAS, 03-02-2004).

Costa Concordia Parbuckling

For the purposes of the safe removal of the Costa Concordia wreck, SOIL Srl has been involved into all aspects concerning the geological and geotechnical design and assistance for the construction of the foundation structures.

The Costa Concordia Wreck Removal Project foresaw in the first stage the rotation of the wreck to its vertical position (parbuckling phase) and subsequently its re-floating by means of the installation of steel caissons on both sides of the ship.

The parbuckling required the construction of underwater anchoring structures on the landward side of wreck and the installation of three submerged platforms for its temporary support in vertical position on the seaward side. The structures were built respectively at water depths of 5 ÷ 10m and 40 ÷ 50m below sea level. Drilled steel piles (D = 2m) were designed for the platforms foundations.
